Two Arrests Following Heathrow ‘Pepper Spray’ Incident

This incident caused the temporary shutdown of the CTA tunnel and the T3 car park.

Two more people have been arrested in connection with a robbery at London's Heathrow Airport where over twenty individuals were injured by what is thought to be an irritant spray, as stated by police.

A man, 24, was taken into custody in the Lambeth area on suspicion of theft and assault and a woman, 23 was detained on suspicion of conspiring to commit a robbery. Both individuals remain in custody, the force said.

The arrests follow an investigation into an assault at the multi-storey car park at Terminal 3 on Sunday. Prior to the attack, a pair of female travelers were robbed of their suitcases upon exiting a car park lift.

A toddler aged three was one of the those hurt during the incident. Five people were taken to the hospital for medical care and were later discharged.

Police arrested a man in his thirties for suspected robbery and assault close to the scene. He was subsequently released under investigation as the investigation proceeds.

Authorities were called at approximately 08:10 GMT after reports came in regarding a number of individuals hurt by an irritating chemical thought to be pepper spray.

The assault - which authorities stated was a standalone incident and not considered an act of terror - caused delays to rail services and the partial closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park briefly.
